About

William Whyte first decided to start his own cargo handling business back in 1982 when he was 34 years old. Having a background in farming and having been involved in cargo handling operations from a young age he knew exactly what hard work was like and knew what was required to get himself started.

Wullie first set up with 4 grain conveyor belts and an RB22 crawler crane. Mostly loading grain cargoes in ports around the North East such as Peterhead, Fraserburgh and Macduff. 13 years later in 1995 he had the opportunity to do some work in Montrose and so opened the Montrose depot in Angus, by this time he had 3 RB crawler cranes and 6 grain conveyors.

Being in Montrose brought new opportunities and the same year the company was operating in the oil and gas sector as well as with bulk cargoes. The beginning of 1996 saw the first Liebherr crane added to the fleet and the company has kept its fleet updated with Liebherr cranes ever since.

Fast forward to 2018 and Wullies fleet now consists of Mobile Cranes, Electric Grabs up to 9 Cubic Metres, Forklifts ranging up to 16t capacity, Loading shovels, Telehandlers and Skid-steer loaders.

The company is now active in all aspects of cargo handling operations and is available in all ports across Scotland.
