In March 2017 we took delivery of 2 130 tonne Liebherr LTM1130-5.1 All Terrain cranes.
The five-axle machine features a 60 metre main boom with a 33 metres bi-folding swing away extension piece. The cranes have been fitted with the elevating cab option, the first two of their kind in the UK. The elevated crane cab provides an eye level view up to 8.1 metres, ideal for working over high sided ships or containers.
Managing director John Mullen said: “Looking resplendent in the company colours and proudly bearing the company logo, these new general purpose cranes will be utilised on a wide range of cargoes in the north east of Scotland such as chain handling, pipe loading and discharge, and for the offshore supply vessels. The cranes are also fully equipped for mobile grabbing operations and the many bulk cargoes they will handle in the supply chain include fertilisers, grain, salt and coal.”
Based in Ferryden, Montrose, Whyte Cargo Handlers has a fleet of all terrain cranes, forklift trucks and telehandlers and operates across a number of Scottish ports including Aberdeen, Peterhead, Fraserburgh, Inverness, Invergordon and Rosyth on the Forth.
